It was a great privilage for me and my delegation from Marsaskala when last August 2011 we met delegations from other municipalities in Sherborne to discuss the Volun TEAMing project. Needless to say that for us it was of a great experience. We learned how to improve our voluntarily services in our community. We experienced the friendly atmosphere and felt how nice it would be to help others without pretending anything in return. Our delegation also found that we also had ideas to be shared with others. Our participation was good and came back home to share what we had learned with our fellow maltese youths.

Next in line our three couples N.G.O’s in the company of our Mayor flew to Sherborne again to continue discussing Voluntary Services within our community. They shared what services we have in Malta with other N.G.O’s with the seven different municipalities within the Douzelage Town Twinning organisation. Sure this was fruitfull since in January 14 we had organised a lunch for our senior citizens in Marsaskala. All volunteers here had given a good helping hand by cooking and serving others.

Then it was our turn as civic leaders to return to Sherborne to put together what went on in the other 2 Sessions that of the youths and NGO`s. We shared our experience of what we were doing and found that we have similar ideas. It was very important to meet with other civic leaders to learn from each other. Needless to say that it was of a great experience to our delegation and we are positevely sure that we learnt a lot and are to deliver what we have learnt to our collegues. We look forward to meet again in the near future.

Last but not least, all our three delegations on behalf of the Marsaskala Local Government must thank Kevin Waterfall and his great team for their work since if it was not for their hard work this project would have had never been successful.
